Rangoli wedding tips - part 4

Tuesday, November 24, 2009

In my final article for the Confetti newsletter, I offer advice on creating your bridal 'look' on a modest budget.

Think 'detail' and focus on the special touches that will give you the 'wow' factor. Choose a beaded sash or pearl trim for your dress or sumptuous antique jewellery that will shimmer as you walk!

Let me know if you need advice with the type of accessories that will complement your gown - I'm more than happy to make some suggestions.

New Rangoli hairband

Sunday, November 1, 2009
This Rangoli headpiece is a new design and combines a classic pearl hairband with a striking brooch style piece to one side. In my coming posts, I will be describing hair accessory trends for 2010 and introducing some more Rangoli designs from my latest collection.

Obviously it is the dress trends that inspire the accessory fashions so it's exciting for me to keep up to date with what the leading bridal designers are showcasing on the catwalks. I have been invited by Confetti magazine to share these tips in their email newsletter over the coming four weeks. All shall be revealed here too though in case you are not subscribed to the newsletter!

Sandra Crosbie - freelance hairstylist

Monday, April 20, 2009

I have known Sandra for a number of years and love her creative styling for weddings and special occasions. In fact my first experience of Sandra was when she did my hair for my own wedding!

Sandra has a flair for creating elegant and feminine hairstyles that make her clients feel really beautiful. She spends lots of time during her initial consultations discussing everything from the style of the dress to the wedding venue. I can also guarantee that you will have fun with Sandra on the morning of your wedding!

These elegant styles were featured in the Spring 2009 issue of Confetti magazine.

Rangoli in Confetti Magazine - Winter 2008

Monday, November 24, 2008

I am delighted to have my work featured again in the Winter 08 issue of Confetti Magazine. Stylist Roxanne Parker chose another creative theme for her fashion shoot and styled the story around fairytales.

I designed a necklace especially for the 'Princess and the Pea' theme and had fun weaving tiny 2mm green Swarovski crystals into a precious encrusted 'pea' which hung from the elaborate black and green rhinestone and crochet neck-piece, (see above).

I also incorporated white feathers into one of my more dramatic headpieces which was originally designed for a 'Children of Lir' exhibition and suited the feathered style gown. This piece has black pearls and labradorite stones woven through it which reflect both purple and green hues depending on how the light shines on them.

Photographer Agata Stoinska really captures the magical qualitiy of these ancient tales and you can view more of her work at http://www.stoinska.com/

Rangoli in Confetti Magazine - Autumn 2008

Wednesday, November 12, 2008

Rangoli is featured three times in the current issue of Confetti magazine! The issue includes a fashion shoot called 'The Aristocrats' where a selection of my jewellery was used to accessorise this romantic portfolio. The cover shot, featuring a Rangoli necklace is also from this collection.
The shoot was photographed by Cale Brennan and styled by Roxanne Parker
You can also see my designs in the 'Real Weddings' feature on Chloe Gaine who was the Wedding Circle and Confetti Bride of the Year 2008. I am a member of Wedding Circle which is a small network of bridal specialists. Chloe and Ivan won a fantastic dream wedding and honeymoon valued at €30,000.

And finally my 'Something Blue' vintage rhinestone tiara was featured in the 'Confetti Style' pages.

Look out for the Winter issue where my work will be featured in the fashion shoot!
