Soft Bridal Hairstyles

Thursday, February 26, 2009

I have been looking for hairstyle inspiration recently for an up and coming Rangoli photo-shoot. Bridal hairstyle trends for 2009 seem to be for softer, more natural looking styles whether half or fully up. It's lovely to see these natural feminine styles which are so flattering to wear.

These type of styles complement many of my fine hairpins and vintage brooch style combs so I am looking forward to styling this shoot in the next couple of weeks!

Megan Park

Thursday, February 12, 2009

I've noticed that I have been posting lots of fashion images recently. There's probably two reasons for this - firstly I'd probably like to own all of the garments and have the occasions to wear them frequently! Secondly, I suppose I am choosing clothing that I would love to design jewellery or accessories to go with. The styles seem to either fall into the floaty and delicate or beautifully tailored and structured categories.

The Gold Floral Tulle Wrap above was designed by Megan Park and I love how delicate and transparent the fabric is with it's gold embroidery detail. The black version is beautiful too...

Something blue

Look at this beautiful blue dress - it would make a lovely alternative if you didn't want to wear white or ivory!

24 Karat Gold Lollipop

Wednesday, February 11, 2009

Well..I love gold and I love champagne so I felt it was my duty to share this product with you. I think every girl should have one of these in their handbag at all times - especially on their wedding day.

These champagne flavoured lollipops contain 24 karat Californian gold flakes.

No bubbles though...

Chanel's spring 2009 haute couture collection

Friday, February 6, 2009

Here are some images from the recent Chanel haute couture show and they are so dreamy! The colours were black and white and the collection captures the glamour of the 1930s. Apparently the show had a dramatic opening with the stage decorated with thousands of hand-cut paper flower and lace.

"The room was all white, with every pillar deeply garlanded in giant paper flowers, tables covered with laser-cut paper cloths, and the staircase laden with yet more cutout roses and camellias. As the girls started to descend in pristine, precision-cut silhouettes, heads decorated with exquisite paper-flower tiara constructions, it was clear this was going to be a Chanel moment to treasure."

Headpiece Inspiration

Monday, February 2, 2009

I'm not usually a fan of feathers in headpieces but this hair accessory really caught my eye. I think it's lovely to wear something along the hairline and as it really defines the shape of the face. At the moment I'm really inspired to make accessories that follow the form of the head. Watch this space...

Rangoli brides

This lovely photo was sent to me by Sandra who was recently married to Declan and wore one of my crochet headbands as a fine Grecian style wrap around her hair. This style piece is very versatile and can be worn in a number of different ways - limited only by your imagination or the creativity of your hair-stylist!

The photo was taken by Thomas Mc Grath who can be contacted at: tmcgrath333@yahoo.com
or by phone on +353 85 1492230

Thanks to Sandra and Declan for allowing me to share this picture!
